No Sew Witch Costume

Moms, I think this no sew witch costume is great witch costume for people like me who can't sew. I'm a mom yeah, but I'm not great at all those amazing things that those super amazing moms can do. I can't sew, well, I could if I really tried maybe but I don't want to. So I look for this sort of thing. Also if any of you teens are out there trying to decide what costumes to choose for Halloween, here's 5 tips that might help from The Popular Teen

I like winning!

I am real grateful to have won tickets to Cleveland's "Brewzilla". Thanks to The Brewer's Daughter. It sounds wonderful. I have never been before and have wanted to check out more of Cleveland (even though I've been here for 5 years. I'm  from Australia). Also being a mom I want to GET OUT!! So this is a great excuse.   Another thing that has made me feel like a winner is this wonderful and amazing weather that we have had this week. It's been so warm! Our family went out to pick pumpkins to decorate the outside with. It all looks so "fall" like out there. I'll take more fall and less winter please!!!     Now for more of a winning attitude...if I can get to the Apple Butter Festival this week, my month will be set!

Bettie Paige Clothing

I love 1950's style clothing. That's not my only style but I love it and I think it's fun. A lot of the fashions lately have bored me. But Bettie Paige clothing looks fabulous!! Especially this dress http://www.bettiepageclothing.com/dresses/rosanna-pencil

Men pay attention!

Hey you men out there! Yes you...did you know that pumping iron can reduce your diabetes risk?  Here's an article about it... http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2012/08/24/strength-training-lowers-diabetes-risk.aspx?np=true

Classic Black & White

I love black & white! I try not to always buy black or white but I do quite often.

Forks over Knives

Have you watched the film "Forks Over Knives"? Or considered it? I watched it recently and it was well worth my time.  It's most definitely an eye opener. If we took our health more seriously, if we looked at what's going on with obesity, hypertension, every other person dying of cancer, the pills you take for your health which are not making you healthier if you don't eat right.  "Unfortunately the link between diet and health is still not well understood by many doctors, who are not required to take courses on nutrition in schools and who therefore rely on pills and procedures to treat patients" Gene Stone.
If you're interested to check this life changing and possibly life saving film here is the link http://www.forksoverknives.com/  I'd like to know how things would change in this nation if people took more health advice. If people became more aware of how to heal themselves and keep themselves healthier. Where's the "October awareness month" for that?   The money isn't to be made in the healthy or dead, it's made in the sick. Think about how much money you pay when you are sick.

Feelin good!

Get healthy! Get up and move, workout, get the blood pumping. Eat good food, drink water instead of worrying about breast cancer awareness month and milk mustache campaigns (which are not helping you get healthy) think more about prevention, making the most out of yourself and your life. It's all about you. I'm tired, I'm not feeling energetic but I am going to get my butt off this seat and devote one hour to working out and then I'm going to cook something healthy. I can rest and watch tv later, but I will feel good about it.

Mommy needs a workout

Being a mother of 2 beautiful girls is wonderful. But as a mom you can always find an excuse to "not workout". I would always make the excuse that the house needs cleaned, or my girls needed me, dinner, dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, bathing, dusting...the list goes on.
But eventually I put on the pounds and was unhappy. Unhappily doing the dishes, laundry, moping, sweeping...you get the idea right?
I didn't know what to do because the pounds were not going anywhere! Eventually I made the commitment to get off my lazy ass and do something with myself that would make me feel good about myself.  I thought, just one hour of my day, is it that hard?  It's been over a year later and the pounds came off, I feel better about myself, I don't hide my body in "tent" clothes anymore and being happier and healthier makes me a better mommy.

#Laughter

#Depressed? #Angry? #bored? Find something to laugh about every day...or just something to smile about. It's the best medicine right? Even if for a few seconds, it better than  nothing at all.  Believe it or not, there is always something in this world to be grateful for. Just look in nature, it's there, you'll find it.

"We are shaped by our thoughts, we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves" Buddha

Be yourself!

Something wrong with being different? Find what it is about you and rock it. You might wish you looked like #Angelina Jolie or guys, you might wish that you looked more like the guy with the #washboard abs. But you  don't need to be thinking that way! Find what it is about you. You might have great hair, skin or something that you can be proud of. Don't forget that beauty starts within. #Beauty starts with you and most importantly beauty starts with being healthy. You are what you eat so choose wisely!

#Awareness

So October is #breast cancer awareness month. That's great and I'm glad money and all that go into the research. We see pink ribbons everywhere blah blah blah.  But, we are very aware right? It's all over the place. But where's the awareness days for all those things that we are not aware of? I think #breast cancer awareness is in our face and while that's great I think that it's a shame that there are not more things publicized. Perhaps, cancer prevention month? Where we become aware of chemicals, high fructose corn syrup in everything, the disgusting factory farmed meat that you are eating, or the overdosed pill popping nation we have become where every emotion is treated with a pill....Hello????

#Stress releif

Stress can be a daily thing. How do you relax and not let it get to you?  I like to sit with a cup of coffee and unwind for a while, whether I'm reading a book or watching a good uplifting movie. How about #pets? I don't have one at the moment but I think that will change in the future. Here are 7 tips to relieve stress http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mercola/stress-relief-7-tools-to_b_574418.html

Dress up!

Dress up to feel confident! It helps you feel good about yourself.  http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Dress_with_Confidence_How_Dressing_Affects_Your_Attitude_and_Confidence.html

Nature, good for the soul.

Don't the sounds of nature relax you? The sounds of water falling, like rain, waterfalls, fountains? Or lush green summer scenery, birds singing, autumn colors?  Get out in nature and feel good! And if you can't, then bring nature to you by having a water feature, indoor plant, be creative!!

The Grocery Bill

Groceries can get expensive. We all want to cut down on cost! We shop at http://www.aldi.us/index_ENU_HTML.htm mostly and often you can't beat it.  There are also several blogs with money saving tips like this one that I thought was great http://www.getitfree.us/blog-Seven-Ways-To-Cut-Down-Your-Grocery-Bill--857?utm_campaign=blog&utm_medium=social&utm_source=engagement&utm_content=seven-ways-to-cut-grocery-bill  Cheap doesn't have  mean unhealthy and canned goods. Try your best to buy real foods and keep away from junk as much as possible.

#Monsanto

Have you heard of the chemical manufacturing company #Monsanto? Monsanto provides the seeds for 90 percent of the world's GM crops.
Fertilizers, pesticides, aspertame, recombinant somatotrophin, which is a genetically engineered growth hormone given to dairy cows to make them produce more milk. Do you feel safe consuming all these chemicals? It's all to do with what you eat.  What goes into your body is NOT safe. Do you trust Monsanto with your health?

Grow Food Not Lawn!

This is pretty awesome right?

Over Medicated America?

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/04/04/antipsychotic-drugs-on-pediatric-bipolar-disorder.aspx?np=trueYes if you really want to, you can get medicated for your emotions. Sibling rivalry, shyness, grief can be considered disorders by modern psychiatry and you can treat it with drugs. What do you think?

Since you are what you eat....

How much real food do you eat? With all the convenience foods, canned products, dehydrated, preserved, words you have no idea of in the ingredients lists, high fructose corn syrups, chemicals like aspertame etc, it's hard to eat "real".
It can be expensive to buy organic, but there's always room for improvement. Cook more often. Grow some veggies, look at your ingredients lists closer. If you want to be healthy, eat healthy and eat real foods.  It starts with small steps. Put the cheetos away and take your step toward looking after you.

Argan Oil

I've been using this on my hair for the  past year. It's the best product that I have used to get rid of the frizzies! The brand I use is morrocan moisture http://www.vitacost.com/fx-moroccan-moisture-argan-oil-4-fl-oz?csrc=GPF-PA-022796842060&ci_sku=022796842060&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw={keyword}&gclid=CNLH3vXaturs4rICFQsGnQodAyMA7g    it's the cheaper of them and works great.  It's natural too. Check it out on the natural news website http://www.naturalnews.com/037386_argan_oil_skin_hair.html
